Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative in our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive timely and effective care. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients via phone, responding to their inquiries and resolving their concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinating and handling new and reorder medication requests, including verifying and updating patient benefits
  • Assisting patients with deciphering and entering new or reorder medications into our pharmacy data system
  • Collecting and processing copay payments, obtaining approvals, and working with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve and process orders with sales or clinical issues
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure that patient needs are met and that financial and clinical expectations are met prior to order fulfillment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • A valid IL Pharmacy Technician License or the ability to obtain one
  • At least one year of experience in a customer service role, handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs via phone
  • At least one year of experience working with Windows-based applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office, web navigation, and email applications
  • At least one year of PC keyboarding experience, skills, and proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Healthcare work experience and knowledge of benefits, insurance, medications, and clinical terminology
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
