What you'll do
As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you'll be responsible for:
- Handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing solutions in a friendly and professional manner
- Issuing, reissuing, and refunding traveler tickets
- Booking, ticketing, and confirming flight reservations
- Rebooking travelers on oversold flights and during irregular operations
- Performing passenger registration and front seat tasks, including redressing oversold seat tasks and issuing upgrades
- Issuing vouchers and coordinating with vendors for traveler accommodations, meals, and transportation
- Performing passenger loading, including ticket lift and ticket lift/confirmation
- Working door scanners and related duties, including pre-boarding, observing/checking carry-on items, and departure line standards
- Working jetways/bridges for the purpose of boarding and deplaning passengers
- Making boarding and departure gate announcements
- Conveying domestic/international flight records
- Performing passenger service flight close-out procedures
- Accepting, checking, and labeling passengers' bags at destination points, full-service ticket counters, and five-star ticket counters
- Maintaining the schedule of the flight loading process
- Performing customer service hands-on training
- Processing and completing credit card transactions at stands in the ticket counter area and activation stations
- Assisting passengers with self-service booth registration and stand staff handling at ticket counters
- Managing lines at ticket counter stands and ticket counters
- Clearing/confirming international reports at booths in the ticket counter area and activation stations
- Accepting and activating passengers' self-labeled bags at activation stations
- Assisting customers requiring special assistance or in-station; assisting boarding, deplaning, and moving non-ambulatory passengers, special assistance passengers, as well as unaccompanied minors
- Performing customer service work related to handling regional flights and contractor/ground handling arrangements or agreements
- Having regular and predictable attendance on site, including fulfilling any required overtime requirements
- Answering and assisting during security and crisis situations
- Providing connecting passengers door information
- Providing quality customer service in a professional manner and according to American's standards
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Completing task-applicable training stages
- Complying with applicable laws (e.g. DOT, FAA, TSA)
- Utilizing various internal resources/frameworks, including during customer communications
- Wearing uniforms as required by company policy
All you'll need for success
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Bilingual language skills required in certain areas
- Valid, substantial driver's license as required by local authorities
- Must meet FAA criminal record checks to qualify for unescorted access awards to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
- Must be able to obtain suitable airport power or potentially US Customs security identifications, if relevant
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screen, thorough background check, or potentially fingerprinting to meet company and security requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Favored qualifications
* Training and earlier professional experience
- Working knowledge of Sabre or other Traveler Service System
- Past face-to-face customer service experience
- Working in a high-speed environment
