Key Responsibilities

As an Experienced Customer Service Representative (Remote) at blithequark, you'll be responsible for:

  • Answering incoming calls and assisting callers with inquiries related to payment or policy status, as well as correspondence received from blithequark
  • Providing accurate and timely information to customers and brokers, including but not limited to:

+ New business (quotation/payment status) + Renewals (payment/issuance status) + Endorsements (processing status/evidence of insurance requests) + Inspections + Deficiency letters + Cancellations/non-renewals + CEA (payment/policy/quotation status)

  • Researching and resolving customer or broker questions/problems in a professional and courteous manner
  • Handling agency licensing tasks, including registering new brokers, address changes, agency mergers, and other related activities
  • Following up with other departments to resolve problem files and ensure timely resolution
  • Inputting data in a desktop database for all incoming calls
  • Assisting customers at the front desk when necessary
  • Distributing faxes and other correspondence to the department
  • Facilitating the processing of evidence of insurance requests as required
  • Participating in individual and group training designed to improve service and stay up-to-date on industry developments
  • Performing additional duties or special projects as assigned by management

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma and basic computer skills required

  • 1 year of insurance experience (coverage knowledge) and customer service/call center experience required
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong emphasis on phone skills
  • Good interpersonal skills (both internal and external) and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to perform slightly varied moderately complex tasks with minimal supervision
  • Sound decision-making skills and ability to exercise occasional decision-making and judgment

Preferred Qualifications

* Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment
  • Familiarity with insurance industry terminology and concepts
  • Previous experience in a call center or customer service role
