Job Overview

The Security and Legal Information Engineering team at blithequark is responsible for building flexible data management and extraction structures that enable the company to maintain the highest data privacy and cleanliness standards in the industry. As a Data Engineer on this team, you will play a critical role in expanding the company's capacity to construct robust, scalable, and privacy-driven data structures. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing efficient, adaptable, and powerful data pipelines using various data technologies, including Flash, Voila, Flink, Kafka, and others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient, adaptable, and powerful data pipelines to handle structured and unstructured data
  • Develop a deep understanding of the data ecosystem at blithequark from a privacy perspective
  • Collaborate with the privacy engineering teams to understand product goals and provide data that enables the company to respond to customer and regulatory data demands
  • Maintain and re-evaluate existing datasets and pipelines

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A strong passion for consumer-driven data privacy and risk mitigation for the business
  • Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, or Scala, with a minimum of 2 years of programming/data engineering experience
  • Comfort with advanced SQL
  • Experience in designing data pipelines using big data technologies (Hive, Voila, Flash, Flink) on medium to large-scale datasets
  • Ability to take requirements and implement scalable data models and pipelines
