Job Overview

This hybrid position offers a mix of remote and in-office work, with a flexible schedule of 2-3 days on and off. As a Project Associate, you will play a vital role in our Revenue Recovery Department, working closely with our team of professionals to ensure seamless operations and exceptional client service. Your primary responsibilities will include retrieving patient medical records, generating and preparing patient itemized bills, extracting and entering necessary information, and making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to gather required information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retrieving patient medical records from various hospital systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Generating and preparing patient itemized bills in appropriate formats for internal and external audits, adhering to strict deadlines and quality standards
  • Extracting and entering necessary information from/to hospital patient accounting systems, maintaining data integrity and attention to detail
  • Making phone calls to post-acute healthcare facilities to obtain information needed on patients, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Running and creating reports, analyzing data, and identifying trends to support revenue recovery operations
  • Assisting with any other information gathering or data entry as needed by the recovery team, showcasing flexibility and adaptability
  • Scanning and indexing of documents, ensuring accurate and secure storage of sensitive information

Essential Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A strong background in data entry, medical records, or a related field, with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with hospital patient accounting systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred

  • Experience in revenue recovery, medical billing, or a related field, with knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
  • Certification in medical records, data entry, or a related field, such as Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) or Certified Data Entry Specialist (CDES)
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software applications
