About the Team and the Role

The Promotions Information Designing team is responsible for building a data ecosystem that provides insights and decision-making capabilities for Netflix's advertising business. As a Data Engineer in this team, you will be working on designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines, data models, and data warehouses to support the advertising business. You will be collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and engineers, to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and accessible to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale data pipelines, data models, and data warehouses to support the advertising business
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and accessible to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain data models, data pipelines, and data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics
  • Work with data scientists and analysts to design and implement data visualizations and reports to support business decision-making

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in data engineering, data modeling, and data architecture. You should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, and data architecture
  • Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
  • Experience with data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts, including data governance and data quality
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have:

  • Experience with advertising technology, including ad serving, targeting, and measurement
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations, including GDPR and CCPA
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js
  • Strong understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts, including deep learning and natural language processing
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
