As a Manager in Training, you will play a vital role in driving the success of our store by assisting the Store Manager in overall operations and administrative duties. Job Summary

The Manager in Training is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett Sports, consulting on action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities, and assuming supervisory control in the Store Manager's absence. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett Sports, including inventory management, sales statistics, and expenses.
  • Consult with the Store Manager in establishing action plans to accomplish departmental and overall store responsibilities, such as selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Assume responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager, including supervising employees and maintaining quality customer service.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary, ensuring a unique customer experience and promoting the merchandise in stores.
  • Direct staff to ensure each department's responsibilities and standards are completed, and keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed, including producing and giving extraordinary customer service, promoting and selling services and merchandise, and upholding all Hibbett Sports policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, assist in managing a team, and keep up with overall goals and profits.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
  • Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked, and a team-player passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.
