Job Summary Upwork is seeking a meticulous and experienced Remote Digital Copy Editor to join our dynamic team. You will work closely with content creators, marketing teams, and project managers to maintain high-quality writing, enhance readability, and ensure consistency across all platforms. Key Responsibilities

  • Review, edit, and proofread digital content, including blogs, articles, marketing copy, and client-facing materials.
  • Ensure content adheres to Upwork’s style guide, tone, and brand voice.
  • Collaborate with writers, marketers, and content managers to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Verify facts, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and overall accuracy.
  • Optimize content for readability, engagement, and SEO best practices.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Track content changes, maintain version control, and ensure consistency across different platforms.
  • Assist in developing editorial processes and guidelines to enhance content quality and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in copy editing, proofreading, or digital content editing.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and syntax.
  • Familiarity with digital content trends, SEO principles, and online writing standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across content.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and digital editing tools.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback while maintaining positive collaboration.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in copy editing, proofreading, or related digital content roles.
  • Experience in remote work environments is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with freelance marketplaces, online platforms, or tech-related content is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Fully remote position with flexible working hours.
