Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced accounting systems set up volunteer to support our budgeting and reporting needs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up our accounting software, providing training and guidelines, and ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems. Key Responsibilities

• Setup of selected accounting software (e.g. Aplos, Araize) to support our budgeting and reporting needs
• Training and guidelines on how to manage the system and generate basic reports
• Assistance with setting up QuickBooks, including best practices for non-profits, and guidance on reconciliations, characterizations, and finding paid items
• Help with learning basic bookkeeping practices, including breaking down grants, budgeting, and forecasting
• Establishing regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices to ensure the accuracy and transparency of our financial data

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proficiency with accounting software, including setup and configuration
• Experience setting up a bookkeeping system and/or software from scratch
• Ability to set up regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience working with non-profit organizations, including knowledge of best practices and regulations
• Certification in accounting or a related field (e.g. CPA, CMA)
• Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
