Position Overview
As a Virtual Educator for CORE Subjects, you will enjoy the flexibility of creating your own schedule with our part-time, contract-based opportunities. While you have the freedom to choose when you work, we have a particular need for educators during daytime hours (8 am EST-4 pm EST) and after school hours. This 1099 Independent Contractor position follows the school district's calendar, allowing you to work at your own pace and choose assignments that align with your certification and pay needs.
Responsibilities
As a Virtual Educator for CORE Subjects, your key responsibilities will include:
- Accessing our educator portal to select teaching assignments that align with your certification and expertise
- Fostering creativity and excitement in the virtual learning environment, engaging students and nurturing their learning and relationships
- Developing strategies to promote student success and track progress
- Creating lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and ensuring seamless delivery of virtual academic instruction
- Participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in online education
Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must:
- Be authorized to work in the US with a valid New York State public professional teaching certification in a CORE NYS subject
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
- Have access to a laptop or desktop computer, webcam, headset, and reliable internet
- Be willing to participate in an interview and undergo a background check
- Prior online teaching experience is a plus, but not required
