Job Summary

The Molina Healthcare Internship Program shares an objective to create a stepping stone for students who aim to be professionals and future leaders in the healthcare business profession. Interns are assigned special projects and various other duties that are intended to provide them with valuable professional work experience and industry insight. The purpose of an internship is to develop talent by providing students with experiential learning, formal training and opportunities to interact with healthcare professionals and community leaders. Interns will perform meaningful work alongside talented professionals, gaining insight to Molina’s culture, Mission and Values.​ 

Molina Healthcare’s Compliance team supports compliance operations for all Molina product lines enterprise wide. It is a centralized corporate function supporting compliance activities at individual state health plans. 

The Intern, Compliance will support the Compliance team in ensuring that the organization adheres to internal policies, federal and state laws and regulations, and contractual requirements for government-sponsored healthcare programs. This role provides exposure to compliance operations, health plan operations, and regulatory requirements while contributing to projects that strengthen the company’s compliance framework. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:  

  • Conducts regulatory research related to government-sponsored healthcare programs, encompassing multiple lines of business and states. 
  • Assists with preparation of compliance reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Supports audits, risk assessments, and investigations as needed. 
  • Participates in compliance training sessions and assist in developing training materials. 
  • Maintains accurate records and organize compliance documentation 
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to address compliance-related inquiries 
  • Performs other administrative and project-based tasks as assigned 

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate Program.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Political Science, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field 
  • Should be a freshman sophomore or junior 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher 
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States 
  • Able to commit to the full-time, 10-week internship program from June 3 – August 1, 2026 
  • Prior internship, volunteer work, or part-time employment in a healthcare setting 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities 
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Interest in compliance, regulatory affairs, or corporate governance 
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Coursework or certifications in Healthcare Compliance, Risk Management, Health Law or Medical Ethics, Quality Improvement or Patient Safety 
  • Progress toward or interest in obtaining a compliance-related certification (CHC, CCEP, etc.) 
  • Internship or work experience in a legal, compliance, or audit setting 
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations 
  • Regulatory audit experience 
  • Experience with Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) systems 
  • Experience with Power BI
