The Opportunity

As a Part-time Associate (Overnight Load Crew) at Smart & Final, you will be responsible for ensuring that our store is fully stocked with fresh products, and that our customers receive exceptional service. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with our store operations team to achieve our goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a store section as assigned, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise using proper equipment, ensuring proper pricing, and validating product date codes.
• Set up advertising and promotional displays, review invoices and bills for accuracy, and clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot.
• Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and make change or process check/charge/debit transactions.
• Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages and offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous assistance to customers.
• Load customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles and perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost or damaged goods and store supplies.

Essential Qualifications:

• Ability to read and write English, interact with the general public and co-workers, and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and pricing codes.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic PC/Outlook skills
• Retail Management Certificate
