Responsibilities:

As an LPN at GI of Norman East, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act
  • Contributing to the development of a plan of care and following through with such plan for selected patients
  • Administering medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy
  • Maintaining the exam rooms and work environment
  • Documenting nursing care and activities
  • Assisting with patient care and monitoring patients during procedures
  • Assisting with the training of other staff members
  • Assisting the departmental assistant with clinical matters

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room, and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care
  • Experience in office clerical activities is desirable

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma or active Multistate LPN license is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for the duration of employment
