We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ParaEducator, Special Programs - SEI to join our team in supporting students with specialized needs.

About the Role

As a ParaEducator, Special Programs - SEI, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students in specialized programs. You will work closely with our students, teachers, and therapists to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support to students in specialized programs, including tutoring, adapting work, and monitoring progress
  • Assist students with daily routines, including personal health and hygiene functions, such as using toilets, diapering, feeding, and medical needs
  • Support behavior plan implementation and utilize CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) techniques and safety monitoring
  • Facilitate and encourage speech and language development through the use of alternate communication systems, such as sign language or voice-activated computer systems
  • Assist instructors with related paperwork and implement specialized therapy programs
  • Work directly with therapists on physical progress and Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
  • Sanitize, disinfect, and clean the learning environment and general work area of all bodily fluids
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Willingness to work with students with significant needs (training opportunities provided)
  • Criminal background check required for hire
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-hire, post-offer physical examination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Universal Precautions training
  • CPI/Safety Care training certification
