Job Summary

The Solution Sales Manager - Azure Application Innovation and Digital Transformation is responsible for discovering and qualifying new leads, driving consumption with new and existing customers, and identifying market and customer needs. You will collaborate with internal teams to devise solutions, orchestrate deals across multiple stakeholder groups, and utilize industry knowledge to differentiate Microsoft solutions. This role requires a strong sales background, technical expertise, and leadership skills to manage a team of sales professionals.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring for team members.
  • Model Microsoft's culture and values, practice leadership principles, and invest in the growth of others.
  • Attract and retain great people, know each individual's capabilities and aspirations, and provide opportunities for growth and development.

Sales Execution

  • Bring impactful industry insights into customer engagements, help close deals, and coach internal stakeholders on sales strategies.
  • Lead a virtual cross-organizational team to drive strategic projects and high-impact solution sales deployments.
  • Develop and manage pipeline, forecast resource needs, and meet with customers on-site to deepen relationships and solution development.
  • Apply Microsoft's sales process (MSP) to determine the quality of opportunities and educate customers on addressing their needs.

Scaling and Collaboration

  • Guide the team to build a network of partners, identify new partners, and evaluate partner capabilities.
  • Facilitate the development of partner strategies, ensure execution, and leverage global resources to connect partner ecosystems.
  • Establish approaches and practices to promote communication and collaboration across functions.

Technical Expertise

  • Support the team in participating in Microsoft events, contribute to setting up events, and promote best practice sharing.
  • Coach the team on business and market knowledge, develop strategies to position Microsoft products, and initiate discussions on industry trends.

Sales Excellence

  • Build and transform new markets by leveraging technical and industry expertise, partners, and resources.
  • Develop long-term customer satisfaction strategies, promote deep and influential relationships with client contacts, and ensure customer/partner satisfaction.
  • Participate in strategic planning, review plans via Rhythm of Business (ROB) meetings, and align team plans across departments.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 6+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working as an Application Developer or Application Developer Manager.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 6+ years of solution or services sales experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.

  • A comprehensive compensation package, with a base pay range of $122,400 - $216,500 per year (or $166,100 - $235,000 per year in specific locations).
