Job Summary

As a Customer Service Representative for our Specialty Mail Order Pharmacy, you will be responsible for providing telephone support to patients receiving life-sustaining specialty drug therapy. Your primary duties will include:

  • Coordinating and processing new patient medication orders and reorders, including verifying and reviving benefits
  • Translating and entering new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system
  • Communicating and collecting copay amounts
  • Obtaining authorizations
  • Working with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to screen, identify, resolve, and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues

Key Responsibilities

* Provide exceptional customer service to patients and internal partners via phone

  • Process new patient medication orders and reorders, including verifying and reviving benefits
  • Translate and enter new or refill prescriptions into the pharmacy information system
  • Communicate and collect copay amounts
  • Obtain authorizations
  • Work with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and internal teams to resolve and defer orders with accounts receivable or clinical issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient interactions and order processing
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient processing of specialty medications

Essential Qualifications

* One year of experience in a customer service role handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone

  • One year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications
  • One year of computer keyboarding experience, skills, and aptitude
  • Verifiable high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

* Pre-existing healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, prescriptions, and medical terminology

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
