Job Overview

The Operator Manufacturing IV is a key position within our manufacturing team, responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of assigned machinery. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The shift for this role is from 4:30 am to 5 pm on a 2,2,3 basis, and it involves working in a dynamic environment that demands flexibility and a commitment to excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities on multiple pieces of equipment to ensure proper startup and operation.
  • Operate and monitor multiple machines, performing setup and changeovers, inspecting parts, and making adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
  • Conduct scheduled quality assurance tests and communicate results with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of high-quality products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment by performing housekeeping activities and sanitizations on production equipment.
  • Provide training and leadership to new associates and peers on the production line, enhancing productivity and quality.
  • Operate various equipment, including Palletizing machines, Stretch Wrap machines, and computerized Pallet Tag machines, to maintain factory efficiency.
  • Utilize Radio Frequency (RF) Tablets for tasks such as unloading product from Palletizing machines or loading product directly into trailers, and scanning products for safe stacking in warehouse bin locations.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A technical, mechanical aptitude for initial basic troubleshooting.
  • The ability to lead peers and a desire to take on greater leadership responsibilities in the future.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, adhering to standardized work and safe practices.
  • The physical stamina to lift at least 25 lbs., stand for prolonged periods, and climb stairs as needed.
  • A willingness to work weekends and some holidays as scheduled.
  • The ability to work in a noisy environment with elevated equipment noise, requiring the use of hearing protection, and potentially extreme temperatures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge and experience acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of relevant work experience.
