Your new role -
As a Pre-Sales Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in the sales process by connecting our innovative solutions ( Figshare, Altmetric and Dimensions) to the unique needs of prospective customers at universities and scholarly publishers across the US. These customer needs may include open research infrastructure, bibliometrics and reporting, and research landscape benchmarking. Using your technical expertise and product knowledge, you will deliver tailored product demonstrations that align with specific customer use cases. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll collaborate with the Sales team to ensure prospects understand how our solutions address their challenges. You’ll also guide trial training sessions, providing hands-on support and addressing technical questions with clarity and confidence.
By simplifying complex concepts and aligning our product capabilities with customer goals at universities and publishers, you will foster trust and advance the sales process. Your focus on collaboration, clear communication, and showcasing the value of our standard solutions will help prospects make confident purchasing decisions. Combining technical expertise with strong presentation and relationship-building skills, you will be a key contributor to the success of the sales team and the growth of the business.
What you’ll be doing
- Connect innovative solutions (Figshare, Altmetric, and Dimensions) to the unique needs of prospective customers at universities and scholarly publishers (e.g., open research infrastructure, bibliometrics and reporting, research landscape benchmarking).
- Deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned with specific customer use cases.
- Act as a trusted advisor by collaborating with the Sales team to show how solutions address customer challenges.
- Lead trial training sessions, offering hands-on support and addressing technical questions clearly and confidently.
- Simplify complex concepts and align product capabilities with customer goals.
- Foster trust and advance the sales process through collaboration, clear communication, and showcasing solution value.
- Combine technical expertise with strong presentation and relationship-building skills to support sales team success and business growth.
- Proven experience working within a university or with academic stakeholders in the US within the context of SaaS or technology-driven solutions.
- Experience with SaaS platform acquisitions at research organizations
- Strong technical proficiency and ability to quickly learn and demonstrate product functionality.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for diverse audiences.
- Experience collaborating with Sales teams or vendors to align technical solutions with customer objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple pre-sales engagements simultaneously, ensuring high-quality delivery and responsiveness.
