Regional Nurse Consultant – Remote, TX

STGi is currently seeking a Regional Nurse Consultant to provide services at our Texas State Veterans Home. The position is remote. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Regional Nurse Consultant to join our dynamic team. This position plays a crucial role in bolstering the quality and effectiveness of nursing services across our facilities through both direct and consultative care. The ideal candidate will be a versatile nursing professional capable of adapting to various healthcare environments and effectively addressing the unique challenges faced by each facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide remote nursing consultation and strategic guidance to multiple long-term care facilities within the program.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of nursing practices and patient care standards at each facility, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Serve as an interim DON, demonstrating exceptional clinical skills and patient care.
  • Collaborate with Director of Residential Health and facility management to develop and refine nursing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate training and development sessions for nursing staff, focusing on skill enhancement, regulatory compliance, and the adoption of new healthcare technologies or methodologies.
  • Assist in the management of critical incidents and provide expert advice on complex healthcare cases.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations at each facility.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility visits, consultations provided, and outcomes achieved.

Required Skills REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years of Director of Nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or consultative role within long-term care or a related healthcare setting.
  • Experience with State Veteran Homes preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform in diverse nursing roles and settings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire nursing staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with all levels of staff and management.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the program as required.

Required Experience REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas or a RN compact license, with a BSN preferred.

  • This position primarily involvessitting,standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 30 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 100 lbs., approximately)
  • The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.
  • Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team whilemaintaininga pleasant attitude.
