Job Summary

As a Full Stack Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports information across our various platforms, including television, digital, and print. You will work closely with our team to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and develop compelling stories that engage our audience. This is a part-time position that requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of sports information across our various platforms

  • Work in individual settings and in teams to deliver precise and timely data analysis and storytelling
  • Create and maintain a working knowledge of our data gathering processes and their impact on our digital and television products
  • Review the results of your own work and that of others, maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom
  • Identify potential issues and develop solutions, communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Play an active role in team and division meetings
  • Seek and respond to feedback on personal performance
  • Stay up-to-date on current office policies and procedures

Required Capabilities

* Working knowledge of sports teams, players, and rules

  • Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes and technologies related to data gathering and analysis
  • Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and colleagues

Preferred Capabilities

* 1+ years of experience in sports or data analysis, preferably in media

  • Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and research contexts
  • Working knowledge of ESPN products and productions
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools
  • Experience leading or training a team
  • Ability to speak and write Spanish
  • Experience using social media in a business or news context

Required Education

* High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Additional Information: (e.g. physical requirements, shift schedules, etc.)
  • Position requires working late shifts (only), weekends, and holidays.
