About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Vauxhall, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of your students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote student learning and achievement
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to achieve school goals and objectives

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• A NJ Substitute Credential
• A background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this!)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination
• A passion for education and putting students first
• An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
• Special education or subject-specific expertise (e.g. math, science, English)
• Bilingual or multilingual skills
• Experience working with diverse student populations
