Key Responsibilities

As the Head Coach of our competitive dance team, you will be responsible for leading the team to success in competitions and events. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing training programs to improve the team's technique, strength, and flexibility
• Creating and choreographing routines for competitions and events
• Conducting practice sessions and rehearsals to ensure the team is well-prepared for performances
• Providing feedback and guidance to team members to help them improve their skills and performance
• Collaborating with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective team environment
• Managing the team's schedule, including practice sessions, competitions, and events
• Ensuring the team's equipment and facilities are maintained and safe for use
• Supervising and mentoring assistant coaches and other staff members
• Organizing team events, such as fundraisers, workshops, and community outreach programs

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A strong background in dance, with experience in competitive dance teams or coaching
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
• Knowledge of dance techniques, including choreography, stunting, and tumbling safety
• A State of Illinois Professional Educator License registered in Will County, or have taken the A.S.E.P. Requirements for Coaching in Illinois, or have a State of Illinois Substitute Teaching License registered in Will County

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience in choreographing and cleaning routines for competitive dance teams
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures for stunting and tumbling
• Experience in organizing team events and managing budgets
• A degree in dance, education, or a related field
