Job Summary

As a Part-Time Statistics Analyst - Data Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports data on our various platforms. This includes working with automated data feeds and manual data entry to guarantee the delivery of precise, up-to-date, and insightful sports information. You will also play a key role in transforming data into compelling storylines, identifying key trends and patterns, and collaborating with our team to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure sports data disseminated by Details and Data is precise, timely, and insightful

• Work individually and in teams to deliver accurate and timely detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data to power a wide range of ESPN products and productions
• Create and maintain a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling ESPN digital products and television productions
• Review the results of your own work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of quality and attention to detail
• Contribute to the development of new ideas, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders in coordinating full- and part-time staff
• Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose solutions; communicate quickly and clearly with colleagues on these issues
• Play an active role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes
• Participate actively in team and division meetings
• Seek and respond to feedback on personal performance
• Stay up-to-date on current office policies and procedures

Required Capabilities

* Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports

• Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives ESPN's digital and television products
• Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments
• Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in the midst of a busy newsroom

Preferred Capabilities

* 1 year of experience in sports or data analysis, preferably in media

• Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes
• Working knowledge of ESPN products and productions
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Experience leading or training a team
• Ability to speak and write Spanish
• Experience using social media in a business or news context

Required Education

* High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
