About the Role

As a Director of Brand Management, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and evolution of our owned brands, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement brand strategies that meet the rapidly changing needs of our guests. You will be responsible for leading a team of brand managers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of brand plans and initiatives. Your expertise in brand building, strategic analysis, and business leadership will be essential in driving the success of our owned brands and contributing to the company's overall growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of brand strategies, working closely with Merchandising leaders to address white space needs within categories and drive growth and profitability
  • Contribute to and monitor the portfolio P&L, making decisions that balance short-term implications with long-run brand equity considerations
  • Analyze market, sales, guest, and brand health data to inform new briefs or ongoing work, managing and growing new, existing, or refreshed owned brands
  • Lead the guest-centric creation of brand mission, positioning, values, and personality, gaining cross-functional leader alignment and managing strategic brand extensions and layering into new categories
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement cross-category brand management, anticipating future needs and steering Brand Roundtables to ensure alignment among key stakeholders
  • Bring a solutions-oriented approach to the operational model for Owned Brands, prioritizing speed, clarity, and governance, and leading the navigation of stage gate processes to meet timelines and budgets
  • Coach and develop high-performance teams, building and elevating skillsets at the individual and team level, and ensuring teams are diverse, equitable, and inclusive

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills, including:

  • A four-year degree or equivalent work experience, with an advanced degree preferred
  • 12 years of experience in a relevant field, such as brand management, marketing, or retail, with a proven track record of success in leading and growing brands
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in developing and analyzing data-driven insights to inform brand strategies
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, and influence and communicate effectively across all levels and functions within the organization
  • Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of the retail industry and the ability to prioritize based on ROI

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
