Position: Netops Engineer

Location: Spain (Remote)

Duration: Long Term B2B Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled NetOps Security Engineer with a strong background in Fortinet and Cisco technologies, combined with hands-on experience in enterprise-grade network security operations. This role is part of a global support team, with a primary focus on supporting and securing our on-premise infrastructure across multiple data centers. The ideal candidate will also provide secondary support for cloud networking in AWS and Azure environments.

You will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and securing both Enterprise and Production network environments, collaborating with internal teams on deployments, migrations, upgrades, and security-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and troubleshoot a hybrid network infrastructure (Fortinet, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, A10, F5).
  • Maintain and manage FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and Cisco ISE.
  • Apply and adjust firewall rules, manage VPNs and secure tunnels for global connectivity.
  • Monitor network performance and incidents using SolarWinds and Zabbix.
  • Execute patch management, software upgrades, and network migrations across EU sites.
  • Support Cloud networking components on AWS (Transit Gateway, EC2, Comm Hubs) and Azure (Virtual WAN, NSGs, Firewalls).
  • Contribute to automation efforts using Ansible scripts.
  • Use JIRA for ticketing and Incident Management for emergency response/escalations.
  • Collaborate closely with a globally distributed network operations team.
  • Occasionally contribute to network design suggestions and enhancements based on operational findings.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and travel if required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in network operations or security engineering roles.
  • Solid expertise in Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) and Cisco (ASA, ISE) environments.
  • Proven experience managing VPNs, firewalls, and secure network tunnels.
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Zabbix.
  • Hands-on skills in Ansible scripting for network automation tasks.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking in AWS and/or Azure (support capacity).
  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade hardware from Arista, Juniper, A10, and F5 is a plus.
  • Experience with JIRA and structured incident/ticket escalation processes.

Certifications (Required/Preferred):

•Fortinet NSE 4 or higher

•Cisco CCNP Security (or similar)

  • AWS and/or Azure certifications are a strong plus

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in a global IT support model
  • Exposure to ITIL-based processes and incident management
  • Understanding of Zero Trust and modern security frameworks
