Business Development Director

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2026-06-17

Symmetrio is currently recruiting for a Business Development Director for our customer, a leading multi-national medical device company. You’ll oversee all aspects of the sales lifecycle—from pipeline development and customer retention to strategic expansion and competitive displacement. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is ready to take ownership of a growing book of business in the healthcare IT space.

This is a “player-coach” role: you’ll not only drive your own sales efforts as an individual contributor but also provide mentorship and day-to-day oversight to an inside sales representative reporting directly to you.

This position is primarily remote, with an estimated travel requirement of approximately 25%. The salary range for this role is $140,000 to $160,000.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic sales execution, including retention, upselling, and new account acquisition across enterprise healthcare clients.
  • Lead customer-facing activities and own all commercial interactions, establishing trust and communicating product value through business case development and ROI storytelling.
  • Develop account plans and manage the full sales pipeline with a structured, data-driven approach to opportunity qualification and forecasting.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across clinical, IT, procurement, and C-suite functions to influence decisions and tailor solutions to organizational needs.
  • Spearhead go-to-market initiatives, adapting positioning based on evolving market trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Expand market share by targeting untapped segments and converting competitive accounts through clear product differentiation and customer success stories.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to align messaging and ensure consistency across the sales journey.
  • Serve as a growth champion—translating strategic objectives into commercial action while advocating for market-informed enhancements across the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of success in enterprise software sales, ideally in healthcare IT, SaaS platforms, or digital health solutions.
  • Familiarity with Cancer Registry software or deep understanding of cancer data workflows and registries is strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in B2B sales and strategic account management, particularly in complex sales environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to execute commercial launches and competitive positioning in a dynamic marketplace.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare decision-making structures, procurement cycles, and regulatory environments.
  • Confident communicator and persuasive presenter with the ability to influence at every level of an organization.
  • Agile, entrepreneurial, and results-driven—comfortable navigating ambiguity and complex sales cycles.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to lead by example.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field required.

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Monthly car allowance
  • Gas card
