Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and responsible Study Hall Monitors to join our team at Worcester State University. As a Study Hall Monitor, you will play a vital role in supporting student-athletes in their academic pursuits, while also enforcing rules and maintaining a positive study environment. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience, develop their skills, and make a meaningful impact on our campus community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor behavior and enforce rules in student-athlete study halls, ensuring a quiet and focused environment.
  • Assist student-athletes in finding campus resources for tutoring, advising, and other academic support services.
  • Mentor and guide student-athletes in their academic endeavors, providing guidance and support when needed.
  • Sign students in and out using the Accutrack computer program, with minimal prior knowledge required.
  • Work collaboratively with the student-athlete team and other university staff to ensure a positive and productive study environment.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with student-athletes and university staff.
  • Minimal sports knowledge, but a willingness to learn and support student-athletes in their academic pursuits.
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrating academic excellence and a commitment to academic success.
  • The ability to supervise behavior and enforce rules in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Availability to work 4-6 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate scheduling needs.
