Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Tesla's Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI platform, utilizing various data and BI tools to provide insights to business stakeholders
  • Work in a fast-paced environment to analyze, design, develop, and deliver Enterprise Data Warehouse solutions, meeting tight deadlines and priorities
  • Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, Airflow, and other relevant tools
  • Build ad-hoc reports to support more inquisitive data users and provide automation using Tableau or similar tools
  • Foster collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders, IT resources, and other teams to gather requirements and resolve requests efficiently
  • Communicate technical and business topics effectively, using written, verbal, and presentation materials as needed, to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop, maintain, and recommend improvements to applications, standards, policies, compliance, and quality assurance practices; participate in design and code reviews
  • Take ownership of and manage the release process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of data products and solutions
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant technologies, architectures, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in Tesla's data capabilities
  • Prioritize work based on the highest impact on the business, focusing on delivering value-driven solutions that meet business objectives

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in creating data pipelines using Python, Airflow, or similar tools
  • Experience with designing DataMart, Data Warehouse, database objects within relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Vertica)
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and query writing, with the ability to optimize queries for performance
  • Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience with creating dashboards and reports for C-level executives, using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working with large datasets, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security principles and practices
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience working in a cloud-based environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
