(Remote Role) Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)

We are actively hiring a qualified and certified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) for a fully remote position supporting clients and students in the Los Angeles, CA area. As a vital communication bridge, you will facilitate conversations between deaf/hard-of-hearing individuals and hearing participants in a variety of professional and educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL), and vice versa, during virtual meetings or sessions.

• Accurately convey tone, intent, and content between all parties involved.

• Maintain impartiality and confidentiality at all times.

• Prepare in advance by reviewing session material or client documentation when provided.

• Provide real-time interpreting in remote classroom, workplace, or service environments.

• Collaborate with coordinators, educators, and team members to ensure quality interpretation.

Qualifications

• Certification from RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in ASL interpreting.

• Experience with educational, healthcare, or corporate interpreting preferred.

• Proficient with remote video platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

• Strong ethical standards and familiarity with interpreter code of conduct.

• Reliable internet and home setup for remote interpreting work.
