About the Opportunity
As a freelance writer for Outlier, you'll play a crucial role in training our AI models by reading and writing English text, assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models, and contributing to the development of our platform. This is a unique opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project, leveraging your writing expertise to shape the future of AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Read English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model
- Write and rewrite prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking
- Assess the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models
Desirable Expertise
We're looking for writers with a strong sense of writing style, exceptional English-language spelling and grammar, and logic and reasoning skills. If you have experience as a professional writer or editor, or are currently enrolled in or have completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline, we'd love to hear from you.
Payment and Compensation
Our payment rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. For core project work, our rates range from $15 to $35 USD per hour in the US, with equivalent rates in other countries:
- US: $15 to $35 USD per hour
- UK: Estimated up to £11 to £27 GBP per hour
- Canada: Estimated up to $20 to $48 CAD per hour
- Australia: Estimated up to $22 to $53 AUD per hour
- New Zealand: Estimated up to $25 to $58 NZD per hour
Please note that rates may vary based on project need and other factors. Certain projects may also offer incentive payments.
