Job Overview and Responsibilities

As a Data Science Summer Intern at Experian's R&D Lab, you will have the opportunity to develop analytical solutions by applying new technologies, including Quantum Computing. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying Machine Learning (ML), data mining, or text mining techniques to extract data insights and solve complex business issues
  • Designing data structures and storage schemes for efficient handling
  • Exploring and improving the application of Quantum Computing for fraud detection, digital marketing, and finance forecasting
  • Conducting ROI and benefit analysis to measure the impact of your projects
  • Documenting and presenting model process and model performance to stakeholders

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Be currently enrolled in a PhD degree program in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Plan to return to school in Fall 2025 to complete your degree
  • Have 0-3 years of working experience in analytics, data mining, or predictive modeling
  • Have experience with regression, Neural Network, or ensemble methods
  • Be proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C++, or C
  • Have prior experience with algorithms and applications of Quantum Computing

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and data platforms
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
