About the Role: Veterinary Technician I

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Technician I to join our team at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). As a Veterinary Technician I, you will play a vital role in providing support to clinicians, residents, and interns by instructing veterinary students in proper clinical techniques and delivering exceptional patient care through a collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop and advance your skills in a dynamic and inclusive team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to clinicians, residents, and interns in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Instruct veterinary students in proper clinical techniques and procedures
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure seamless delivery of patient care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity, and selfless service

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, Biomedical Science, Animal Science, or a related area
  • Or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to work alternative shifts, holidays, weekends, and on-call duty
  • Ability to work around animals, hay, or dust
  • Ability to move heavy loads

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience handling large animals in a veterinary setting
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a veterinary teaching hospital
  • Certification as a veterinary technician (e.g., RVT, LVT, CVT)
