Job Summary

As an IT Summer 2024 Undergraduate Student Intern in Data Science and Operations Research, you will be part of our Operations Research and Data Science team, responsible for building models to support various functions across the airline, including Revenue Management, Cargo, Customer Experience, and Tech Operations. You will work on exciting projects, develop your skills, and contribute to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities

• Query airline data from multiple sources and perform exploratory data analysis
• Write Python scripts and build models to predict behaviors and recommend airline operations
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including presenting findings to Operations Research and Business leaders
• Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex problems

Requirements

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Data Analysis/Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and completion of at least 2 years in a school program
• Python and SQL programming skills
• Strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and security, with a focus on self and others
• Interest in solving complex problems and contributing to significant projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS
• Experience developing AI models
• Ability to process large amounts of data and extract insights
• Willingness to learn management methods and best practices in critical thinking and problem-solving
