Job Summary

As a Freelance Social Media Virtual Assistant, you will play a critical role in managing and scheduling social media posts across various platforms, including Facebook, X, TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. You will work closely with our Tourism Social Media Manager to ensure that all content aligns with our brand and marketing strategy. Your responsibilities will include scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, assisting with basic reporting, and collaborating with the team to stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices and tools.

Key Responsibilities

* Schedule social media posts across various platforms using provided content, ensuring that all posts are accurately scheduled and posted at optimal times.

  • Monitor engagement on posts and notify the team of any significant interactions or inquiries.
  • Assist in basic reporting on social media performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that content aligns with our brand and marketing strategy, staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest social media best practices and tools, recommending new tools and strategies to improve our social media presence.
  • Draft copy for posts as needed, using your creative writing skills to craft compelling and engaging content.
  • Assist with minor content adjustments using graphic design tools, such as Canva.

Qualifications

* Previous experience in social media management or a similar role, with a proven track record of success.

  • Knowledge and familiarity of Upstate New York, including Albany, Saratoga, Glens Falls, Lake George, and/or the Adirondacks.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and scheduling tools, including Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and engage with our online community.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, with a strong sense of self-motivation and discipline.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to contribute new ideas and think outside the box.

Preferred Skills

* Basic knowledge of graphic design tools, such as Canva, for minor content adjustments.

  • Experience with analytics tools, such as Google Analytics or Facebook Insights, to track social media performance and provide insights for improvement.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, such as WordPress or Drupal, to manage and schedule content.
