About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Representative to join our team in Warwick, RI, in a hybrid role. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for physicians, hospitals, and other medical providers participating in Rhode Island Medicaid. Your role will be to provide knowledgeable responses to their claims and eligibility-related questions, ensuring excellent customer service and resolving issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer an estimated 40-50 inbound calls daily from the Rhode Island Medicaid provider network and member beneficiaries, providing excellent oral communications and quality customer service.
  • Address billing and eligibility questions, following up as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Create and manage computer call logs/references for added review and follow-up with solid outcomes.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including offering added assistance as appropriate, and become familiar with web service offerings to support and direct providers to these offerings.
  • Train and support peers and new team members.
  • Provide updates to members on Benefit Plan Choice Selection and Premium payment status on the Adult Managed Care line.
  • Answer customer inquiries to ensure processing is in accordance with billing procedures, and follow up with supervisors on more complex, non-routine customer inquiries, including member requests and concerns.

What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous customer service experience in a professional setting.
  • Two years or more of customer service experience, either face-to-face or by phone.
  • To be detail-oriented, prompt, and reliable.
  • Good typing and computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.

While previous medical or medical billing experience is a plus, it's not necessary. We're committed to training the right candidate and providing the necessary resources to excel in this role.

What You Can Expect

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Warwick, RI, with a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule (8:30 am - 5:00 pm EST). You'll have the opportunity to work in the office for the first 60-90 days for training, followed by a hybrid schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29,100.00 - $41,600.00 per year, with the base pay offered varying depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
