This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. 10012 Key job responsibilities

• Investigating new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our U.S. government customers
• Maintaining the world's most advanced cloud computing infrastructure including Amazon Web Services ECS, Fargate, Cloud Map. Eventbridge, and more
• Investigating system variances about to affect major services worldwide and solving them proactively before impacting customers
• Diving deep into service interdependencies and region specific configurations to find the root of a problem about to affect an entire nation
• Studying and learning from industry recognized Amazon distinguished engineers
• Maintain an active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements

A day in the life On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks. • High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
• In lieu of above relevant work experience, degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 1+ years of systems administration experience (Linux/Windows).
• Experience working with scripting and coding languages.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years experience with cloud computing technologies.
• 1+ years of networking experience.
• 1+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
• Experience automating routine tasks and troubleshooting.
• Experience with performance and log analysis.

The base pay for this position ranges from $81,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $152,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
