Dillard’s is seeking an accountant with 3+ years of progressive experience to fill a special projects role at its corporate headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas. This role offers a combination of tax and financial accounting responsibilities and will report directly to the Vice President of Tax. The ideal candidate for this position is self-motivated, highly analytical and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and excellent time-management and communication skills. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and an eagerness to automate and streamline processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial reporting processes and facilitate financial statement audits related to the Dillard’s Investment & Employee Stock Ownership Plan (401(k) Plan) and the Dillard’s wholly-owned captive insurance subsidiary 
  • Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements related to the 401(k) Plan, other Dillard’s benefit plans, and the Dillard’s wholly-owned captive insurance subsidiary
  • Coordinate tax-related audits and responses to inquiries from both internal and external sources 
  • Oversee processes related to accounting for intercompany transactions and maintaining associated documentation and agreements
  • Assist with supervising, training and mentoring professional staff
  • Identify opportunities to drive process improvements across the tax department utilizing modern accounting and tax technology
  • Collaborate with internal teams, auditors and regulatory contacts

Qualifications

  • CPA license required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Minimum 3 years of tax and/or accounting experience
